Job Description

The Mental Health Center of Denver is looking for a Digital Media Specialist located in Denver, Colorado. As a Digital Media Specialist you will, develop and execute the Mental Health Center of Denver’s website strategy to ensure that reflects the organizational commitment to innovation, diversity and well-being. Under the direction of the director of marketing and communications, the position will provide leadership and oversight on web strategy, including but not limited to development, design and maintenance of the website, current and fresh content creation, and use of SEO best practices. Serves as an in-house source of technical advice and support for WordPress content management system and provides support for other departments within the organization seeking to change content on webpage, so if you have experience with Digital Media, and would like an opportunity to learn, grow, and wear many hats, we would like to speak to you.  Please Apply!

As a Digital Media Specialist you will:

  • Manage a yearly strategic web plan in collaboration with web contractors to continually adapt and improve SEO practices and content marketing strategy
  • Monitor, update and continuously improve the website to ensure accuracy and an audience-focused website
  • Develop, edit and create SEO rich content to support branding and business objectives
  • Create digital design utilizing Adobe Creative Suite
  • Establish strong relationships with key departments and content specialists
  • Collaborate with development team to align the organization’s website with content marketing strategy, social media channels and events
  • Develop and update web site policies, user guidelines and other internal documentation as appropriate
  • Perform project management for projects relating to the website
  • Monitor and report on web analytics and use results to inform future web strategy
  • Supervise contract employees and manage vendor relationships
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office equipment
  • Job Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 1 to 3 plus years of business or digital marketing experience with website management/development/design.
    • Proficient in WordPress, HTML, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), MS Office, I and general database concepts.
    • The ability to work with Digital camera, computers, calculators, fax machines, scanners, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
    • Must have excellent editing/proofreading and organizational skills.
    • Requires occasional evening, weekend, or on-call hours.
    • May require lifting up to 50 pounds.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, UX/UI.
    • Commitment to high ethical standard and maintaining high level of confidentiality.
    • Ability to work effectively with ethnic, cultural and diverse populations.
    • Attention to detail and rigorous follow-through.
    • Strong ability to finalize deliverables on time and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a field related to web development, communications, marketing, public relations, graphic design or computer science. Relevant college coursework in psychology, social work, business administration, public speaking, and Public relations are all helpful.
    • Project management would be preferred.
    • Non-profit and /or experience in healthcare communication preferred.
    • Experience with HTML, CSS, and CMS, WordPress, Drupel preferred.
    • Advanced knowledge of SEO, SEM and Google Analytics.
    • Understanding of audience segmentation, user experience, and style guidelines.
    • Experience as a producer or editor of a health-related website with web design, writing, editing.
