Job Description

Ahern, one of the leading mechanical and fire protection contractors in the United States, has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Project Manager within our Ahern Fire Protection Division. This position will be based out of our Des Moines, Iowa office. Building a first class reputation in the industry since 1880 did not happen by chance. How you will contribute: 
Leverage your persuasion and relationship management skills through developing and growing a customer base. Apply your project management abilities through performing preliminary design and calculations for the bid estimates, preparing pricing for materials, labor, freight, and fabrication, seeking out competitive vendors and services to assure that Ahern’s fire protection projects are competitively bid. You will also be responsible for preparing scope and quotation letters for customers, maintaining monthly estimate logs, meeting with management on a regular basis to discuss current estimating backlog and due dates, participating in turnover meetings as required, and assisting with any follow-up information with the customer as is requested, assuming an active role in managing the projects in conjunction with the designer and construction superintendent.

Job RequirementsWhat you need to qualify:  
Ahern will make the most out of your five plus years of Sales and Project Management experience within the fire protection industry.  You will stand out if you have prior experience in design, bidding work, and a strong understanding of estimating.  Knowledge of how to calculate systems using HydraCalc is preferred. Must have excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills; the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.  NICET certification is preferred.
