Job Summary

As a Patient Accounts Representative you are responsible for collecting outstanding balances on patient accounts.  In this role you will handle inbound and outbound patient, provider and physician calls, answering questions related to Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) third party billing.

  • Collect patient payments over the phone to be run through credit card processing system. Provide receipts to cash posting department to ensure payment is posted to the correct patient’s encounter
  • Set-up budget plans and prompt pay discounts, following approved patient billing guidelines
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all inquiries within practice management system, including uploading all correspondence and EOBs to correct accounts
  • Answer questions related to IONM third party billing, while maintaining productivity standards and performance guarantees where applicable
  • Identify and escalate, in a prudent manner, concerns received from patients and/or clients so that corrective action can be pursued and expedited to take care of their needs
  • Work to research and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Job Requirements

    Requirements

    • One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in third party collections preferred.
    • Excellent phone etiquette required.
    • Drive to provide excellent customer service and patient advocacy.
