Summary:

The Director of Marketing provides leadership and direction in the development of the company marketing programs. This is accomplished by collaborating with the various sales, advertising, marketing, product management functions and resources outside of the company. The position is responsible for developing the concepts and implementing marketing initiatives to deliver campaign objectives, budgeted revenues and profits for the operating divisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes an Agile methodology to leverage the resources of the marketing, advertising and eCommerce departments in order to develop and implement appropriate campaigns and marketing initiatives for selected markets. Collaborates with company business units to support revenue and profit objectives.
  • Oversees company marketing communications. Primary focus is to manage the lead generation, customer acquisition and retention. Special emphasis with electronic marketing. Manages internal and external resources executing social channel communications.
  • Develops seasonal, product, and event-based marketing campaigns to drive the desired response from the intended audience. Responsible for the results and profitability of these programs including the measurement and evaluation of all direct marketing strategies.
  • Develops, tests, and measures marketing initiatives for various sales channels. Works with sales leadership to program marketing initiatives to support and improve sales results.
  • Collaborates with the Director of e-Commerce to develop and execute programs leveraging a full range of internet and ecommerce capabilities in support of the company's growth strategies.
  • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of our market segments. Conducts regular opportunity analysis to identify new growth initiatives. Executes market research as directed and establishes a variety of information sources to inform the business unit of trends and opportunities.
  • Participates in the development of advertising campaigns and messaging in support of company marketing strategies. Collaborates with the Advertising staff to develop appropriate and impactful messages consistent with the company brand.
  • Directs the tradeshow, workshop, and professional development programs.
  • Manages the cooperative advertising opportunities.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing or related field, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of sales and marketing responsibilities with management of 5+ staff members
  • Experience with marketing campaigns from inception to results analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of print and electronic communications
  • Well-developed understanding of e-commerce
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Consumer insights/market research experience would be helpful
  • Preferred software experience: Oracle/ATG Commerce, Adobe SiteCatalyst, Bronto Email, Google, or similar
  • Job Requirements
