Commodity Forwarders Inc is looking for a full-time Customer Service Agent to fill a position within our Customer Service department in Anchorage. This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate between $15 and $16 depending on experience.
Must be able to work weekends as needed during our busy summer season. Must be friendly, self directed and reliable. We are looking for someone who is a quick learner, able to multi-task and maintain great attention to detail even while dealing with frequent interruptions. Inventory management, distribution and/or previous air export experience is a plus. A positive can do attitude is a must. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
**Prioritize the work flow for cargo movements to insure customer and vendor satisfaction. **Insure the timely movement of cargo from origin to destination to fulfill customer's instructions **Make sure all freight forwarding activities abide by all government laws and regulations at origin and destination. **Make sure all necessary reports and records are complete, timely, and accurate. **Coordinate with customs brokers to obtain release documents **Process claim paperwork timely and accurately with carriers. **Make sure all import files provided to the warehouse are complete. **Coordinate all necessary deliveries while maintaining our strict delivery guidelines. **Promote a customer service friendly atmosphere. **Resolve problems that arise during the transportation cycle to build customer confidence. **Proactively communicate requirements to customer **Complete responsibilities for all billing related functions **Process all billing within necessary time frame and billing accuracy. **Adhere to all Policies and Procedures. **Perform any other related duties as necessary **Answering multi-line phone system **Responding to emails in a timely manner

The ideal candidate will posses the following minimum education and qualifications:
**High School Diploma/GED **Work Experience- Minimum 2 years Customer Service Experience (Freight Forwarding Experience is a Plus) **Basic Computer Skills ( e-mail, web browsing, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word) **Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently handling various responsibilities with competing priorities. **Excellent customer service abilities **Logistics or Transportation experience is preferred
