Job Description

Sartori specializes in making and selling premium, award-winning cheese to the finest retailers, restaurants, and food manufacturers in the US and the world.  We’re proud that Sartori is a fourth-generation family owned and operated company in the great American tradition. 


We are seeking a General Accounting Manager to champion and lead our monthly end close process and Accounts Payable, Receivable and Payroll functions.  The accuracy and timeliness of the reporting and information prepared by the General Accounting Manager influences the decisions of our Leadership Team and the strategic planning process.


Manages and coaches the AP, AR, and Payroll staff including setting annual personal objectives and conducting performance reviews.

Identifies and implements opportunities for efficiencies among staff and embraces a continuous improvement mindset. 

Manages the monthly and annual closing processes and schedules to ensure financials are properly recorded and reported on a timely, consistent basis.

Owns the balance sheet account reconciliations process, updates the file and reviews all accounts to ensure adequate support exists and all variances are understood and identified.  

Manage and coordinate the Company fiscal year-end audits as the lead representative working directly with our external auditors Maintain and develop internal accounting controls; document process and implement standard work, identify internal control weaknesses and provide recommendations. 

Assists in the compilation of the annual budget and strategic plan, as well as periodic financial forecasts.

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, required.

Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in AP / AR / Payroll, leading month end close and participating in annual audits, required.  Banking experience and/ or working in a manufacturing environment, a plus.

Excel super user.
