Summary:

Ankura Consulting is looking for Associates and Senior Associates to join its fast-growing Data Analytics practice.  Ideal Senior Associate candidates have 2-5 years’ experience performing data analytics in a consulting environment, preferably in litigation consulting, financial investigations, forensic accounting, or other related areas.  Entry-level candidates or recent college graduates with an interest and background in these areas will be considered for the Associate role.

Senior Associate Responsibilities:

As a Senior Associate, you will be intimately familiar with your clients' big-picture objectives and challenges as well as the smallest details of their organization’s data and IT infrastructure.  With this knowledge, you will be responsible for designing and executing efficient, innovative analytical solutions to address their issues.  Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Coordinating with client contacts to identify, acquire, synthesize, and analyze relevant data
  • Identifying the relationships among multiple sources and types of data, and organizing this information to facilitate effective data analysis
  • Designing and implementing complex financial models to generate meaningful metrics and/or visual demonstratives
  • Analyzing and interpreting historical financial, operational, and transactional data
  • Performing the day-to-day client engagement activities, including interaction with client personnel, internal Ankura team members, and other stakeholders involved in the engagement
  • Overseeing and mentoring junior colleagues and ensuring error-free work product across the team
  • Contributing to the overall success of the firm by participating in pitches, developing internal training, and marketing the firm externally to prospective clients
  • Job Requirements

    Senior Associate Requirements:

    • 2-5 years’ experience performing data analytics in a consulting environment, preferably in litigation consulting, financial investigations, forensic accounting, or other related areas Bachelors or Master’s Degree in accounting, finance, data analytics, or related field
    • Possess strong quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills
    • Strong team-oriented personality characteristics: hard-working, thoughtful, collaborative, with a positive outlook and confidence without arrogance
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal), mathematical, and organizational skills
    • Able to work in a team as well as independently
    • Proficient in database management and querying tools (e.g. SQL, SAS), Python, VBA, and / or other ETL technical skills
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Qlik
    • Able to demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal), mathematical, and organizational skills
    • Able to adapt quickly in handling multiple/evolving tasks as a result of new engagements and/or re-prioritized deadlines
    • Highly motivated, eager to learn, willing to travel, and able to motivate others
    • Able to utilize technology to solve complex problems
    • Desire and ability to mentor and develop junior colleagues
    • Able to produce high quality and/or final work product under strict deadlines
    • General finance and accounting background a plus
    • Flexibility to travel as required

    Associate Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Experience in database management and querying tools (e.g. SQL, SAS), Python, VBA, and / or other ETL technical skills
    • Strong desire to learn new skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
