Program Description

Domestic Violence Program (DVP): DVP offers services to anyone who is a victim of domestic abuse and provides a diverse array of services including 24/7 emergency shelter, court advocacy assistance, referral and information services, support groups and counseling, case management, bilingual staff (Spanish), educational programs for schools and training for professionals throughout Northeastern Connecticut.



Job Description:

Work in a team environment providing supervision to staff and volunteers in our 24/7 emergency shelters which provide a safe environment to victims and children fleeing domestic violence, as well as supervision to advocates in both criminal and civil courts. Provide program oversight and program development. Ensure positive customer service, and compliance with program standards, reporting and internal/external regulations. Serve as a liaison to funders and community providers. Responsible for budget oversight, hiring, site maintenance, fundraising and developing program policies. As part of our DVP team you would collaborate with staff to meet the needs of the victims. Schedule:  Monday – Friday. On-call duties and a flexible schedule is required and may include evenings, weekends and holidays.  



Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in relevant human services field. Master Degree preferred. Three to five years of relevant human services experience. Experience must be relevant to specific program needs and requirements. Two to three years of appropriate supervisory experience. Domestic Violence Counselor Certification required upon joining the program.
