Job Description Manufacturing Engineer CNC Machining

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Perform initial setup of machines/machining conditions for mass production

- Drive individual process improvements in quality, cycle time, and cost through machine optimization activities

- Lead continuous improvement activities by collecting shop performance data, identifying bottlenecks and improving material flow through the plant

- Work with cross functional support teams to identify top losses, find root causes and develop/implement solutions

- Work with maintenance to investigate and solve machine downtime problems

- Create standard procedures for tool changes, machine start up/ shut down, etc. train Team Leaders in the procedures

- Perform tool tests for cost reduction and tool life improvements

- Work as part of a cross-functional team to attack emerging situations with a sense of urgency

- Transfer knowledge and coach others in problem solving and technical skills

Job RequirementsQualifications:

- Bachelors in Engineering, Engineering/Industrial Technology, or related STEM field

- 3+ Years Experience in high-volume automotive component machining environment

- Training and experience in CNC part programming and PLC's preferred

- Experience in planning and/or optimizing processes, new product/process launch experience a plus

- Problem Solving Skills a must, Green Belt preferred

- Able to work in teams, collaborate with various departments/levels, share knowledge with operators - Able to facilitate group problem solving and optimization activities

- Demonstrate initiative, a self starter
