Job Description

A client of TriNet’s, a solutions provider for government, military and industrial organizations, is seeking a full-time Proposal Writer and Manager.

Candidates applying for this position must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal development, writing and document production in response to federal government solicitations, desktop publishing, communication and organization skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must also be creative, a self-starter and have a "problem solver" approach to each assignment. Experience and demonstrated skill with innovative graphic design and development is desired.

Key Responsibilities: (planning, managing, writing, communicating, coordinating)

  • Write proposals to achieve a concise, coherent message;

  • Conduct research for and review of proposal of bid/qualification request documents to determine client requirements and project feasibility;

  • Work with subject matter experts to understand the competitive environment for the proposal opportunity, and develop competitive strategies for winning the work;

  • Manage the proposal process from solicitation to final submission;

  • Perform market research to assist in development of proposals;

  • Support other divisions including operations with writing, technical editing, formatting and production.

  • Reporting/Communication Relationships and Location:

  • Maintain close communications with other divisions and staff to identify and support their proposal, marketing, and writing/editing support needs;

  • Maintain close communications and coordination with document production functions, primarily conducted in Dallas Texas corporate office;
  • Job RequirementsKnowledge Skills and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including management staff and support staff;

    • Good time management, project management, organizational and problem solving skills;

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication and collaboration skills; a wide degree of creativity is expected;

      • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts and solutions effectively.

      Education and Professional Experience:

      • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal development, writing and document production in response to federal government solicitations.

      • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline such as Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field.

      • Post graduate qualifications are desirable.

      • Experience in proposal preparation and proposal management (up-front planning, win strategy development, proposal design and review teams).

      • Have a minimum of five years’ experience working in the engineering and environmental consulting field.

      • Experience with contract review.

      • Sales background / knowledge preferred.
