Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Create, maintain and update master schedules for multiple value streams and/or facilities.  Schedules should ensure sufficient finished goods inventory is available to meet actual and forecasted customer demands while optimizing production efficiency.  This position is challenged to communicate across multiple functions to ensure all the necessary product information, production capabilities and supply routes are understood when planning the master schedule.  The incumbent, as a seasoned scheduler, is required to solve a variety of problems that may arise, including but not limited to, rejected parts, purchased parts availability, capacity and throughput constraints, and change in customer demands and service levels. The incumbent may provide work direction to other members of the Supply Chain and Manufacturing departments.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the production plans for multiple facilities.
  • Updates the master schedule to ensure the appropriate mix of products is being manufactured in the appropriate facility based on current demand and forecasts.
  • Communicates demand information across plants for complete visibility of volume and metrics.
  • Coordinates requests for rush orders and expected delays in materials and purchased parts so that the shortest possible delay occurs for customers.
  • Monitors finished goods inventory by product line to assure adequate availability of parts.
  • Manage customer planning programs with Sales and Customer Service inputs
  • Performs other duties as required.

    Job Requirements

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

    • The successful candidate will have a firm grasp of MRP, lean manufacturing principles, the shop floor and product flow. Excellent negotiation skills and attention to details.
    • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills, including written, verbal & presentation skills.
    • Proficient in Excel.
    • Able to create production plans, including targets and deviations from targets.
    • Understands customer demand and how to alter production so that demand is met with the lease impact to other customers and / or stock build.
    • Must work efficiently under pressure and create an environment promoting teamwork and accountability.

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS / PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

    • A college degree or 7 years of experience any combination of scheduling, inventory control, production and manufacturing.
    • Prior experience leading and/or delegating teams effectively.
    • Must be able to perform routine math associated with creating Excel spreadsheets.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to use normal office equipment (scanner, printer, copier, computer).
    • The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA limits.
    • Infrequent travel is required.
