Job Description Position Details:
  • Job Title: Manufacturing IT Systems Engineer / Pharma Industry
  • Duration: 12 months contract, extendable up to 24 months
  • Location: Horseheads, NY 14845

  • Overall Responsibilities:
  • This role is responsible for and assists with analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and support of site wide IT based systems supporting manufacturing, compliance and quality assurance needs as e.g. but not limited to DNC/PDM systems, SPC, MES and other related systems. This role is also responsible for introduction and governance of these systems across the site. 
  • Provide technical support and act as primary resource in the local implementation and usage of the systems. 
  • Provide technical and analytical support for development, enhancement, production support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the systems along with integration with other business systems. 
  • Works independently or as part of a local or multi-site team to design, realize and roll-out new and improved IT based systems in support of operations, quality and compliance. 
  • May act as a technical reference or complete special projects in individual areas of expertise (i.e., programming, etc.)

  • Engineering Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs assignments designed to continue the development of professional work knowledge and abilities requiring application of systems engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out engineering tasks. 
  • Analyzes new system applications with the intent of achieving continuous improvement of present methods using process cost evaluation, quality and capability alternatives analyses, and process characterization. 
  • Performs complex research of new and emerging technology for potential local and corporate application. 
  • Performs assignments that have complex objectives and require the investigation of multiple variables. 
  • Identifies and implements software tools to support process improvements for existing manufacturing processes 
  • Program, setup and operate manufacturing technology and equipment outside of standard CNC operations (automation, integrated machining technology, networking, laser marking, etc.). 
  • Request and configure IP addressing of CNC equipment and related devices including but not limited to I/O modules, data acquisition modules, etc. 
  • Supports new equipment acquisition efforts including user requirement specifications, software selection, installation, validation, employee training, and other related equipment responsibilities as required. 
  • Leads or participates in the development and implementation of manufacturing systems procedures. 
  • Participates in, and in some cases, leads cross-functional teams which may include, but are not limited to Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Finance and Product Development. 
  • Acts as a liaison to vendors with regard to contracted products, machine hardware, and their instillation. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.
