Job Description

Leading global manufacturer of industrial grade products with plants across North America.

Summary: Responsible to perform the manufacturing engineering function for special projects, production lines, cost reduction, and continuous improvement thru analytical approach. Develop and implement assembly line improvements & process controls, while following required safety and quality standards. Recommend and implement improvements to processes, methods and controls and product design. Ensure safe working practices are designed into all processes.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and implement strategies to provide manufacturing process solutions to meet production quality
  • Coordinate input and formulate manufacturing methods for new products and changes in processing of existing products.
  • Initiate or coordinate tests aimed at defining or determining problems related to equipment and process performance.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Assist in the direction and training or production support personnel in the use of process parameters and related equipment.
  • Maintain technical records and data on process and equipment and communicate same for maintenance or process capability.
  • Use project management skills to implement turnkey programs for new equipment/line installation.
  • Use extensive experience and troubleshooting skills to determine cause(s) of equipment malfunction, downtime or stoppage; coordinate and supervise repairs of all types of manufacturing equipment.
  • Job Requirements
    • 7 Plus years’ experience in manufacturing 
    • Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Systems Engineering degree required 
    • Previous training with Lean manufacturing principles
    • Problem solving - Proficient in the use of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and other process control/ analysis techniques – to recommend decision based on thorough data analysis
    • Demonstrated, applied mechanical aptitude
    • Experience with fixtures and tooling 
    • Hands-on engineer who wants to be on the shop floor
