Job Description Activities Assistant

Marquette Manor is looking for a Activities Assistant to join our team in the Health Care Center!

Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting with the overall planning and implementation of varied activity programs, meeting the physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual l needs of our residents.

Job Summary:

  • Planning and coordinating activities such as: Reality Orientation, Current Events, Discussion Groups, Sensory Stimulation, Cultural Activities, Religious Services, Special Entertainment, Outside Trips, Spontaneous Activities etc.
  • Preparing and distributing the monthly calendar and newsletter
  • Assist with purchasing activity supplies, distributing mail etc.
  • Distributes mail daily to residents
  • Performs and directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas
  • Complete weekly cleaning and organizing tasks for the department to run efficiently
  • Directs volunteer activities, enlists their support and coordinates  their efforts; provides training and supervision of volunteers
  • Maintains accurate documentation of resident's activity attendance
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned
  • Flexible schedule


    Job RequirementsJob Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 1 year experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed Health Care setting preferred
    • Background in Music, Art, Drama or Dance preferred therapy preferred
    • Full-Time / Occasional Weekends
