Job Description Summary: Receives, stores and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within warehousing facilities and to and from loading vehicles by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned).

    Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
    Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
    Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
    Loads and unloads trucks and other vehicles as required.
    Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
    Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to other departments.
    Marks materials with identifying information.
    Opens boxes, crates, and other containers.
    Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
    Counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
    Arranges stock items in specified areas.
    Uses computer to enter records.
    Assists manager, supervisors and other employees as directed.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
