Job Description

Buyer / Plannner

Sedona Staffing is currently seeking  a qualified Buyer / Planner for a Logistics Service company located in East Moline, IL.  This is a temporary need of 6-months (January-June).  This positions is  1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p with potential for OT.    Pay is $15-$17/hr. DOE.
As a temporary Buyer for our client, your job duties will include, but are not limited to:


  • Procuring parts for experimental builds.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of parts.
  • Works proactively with Supply Management Specialist managing complex commodities and supply base. 
  • Coordinates and executes the logistics requirements for the supplier concerning containers, packaging, methods and parameters; arranges agreements with the supplier on appropriate logistics processes before the start of production.  
  • Trace shipments in transit to verify arrival and document corrective action from delivery failures  
  • Work directly with factory contacts to ensure delivery time and quantity of HOT parts is sufficient 
  • Resolves and eliminates shipping, receiving, and invoicing problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers. 
  • Set up expedites 
  • Work with Suppliers, Buyers, and Quality Engineers to ensure Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) and Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) are submitted and released in a timely manner
  • Track order lead times and usage of time and material.
  • Work toward continuous improvement.
  • Job Requirements
    • High School Diploma, GED or continuing education required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management and/or continuing education preferred.
    • Previous materials management, procurement/purchasing, and/or logistics experience.
    • Intermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
    • SAP software experience/knowledge preferred.
