Senior Manager Infrastructure

Job Summary
The Infrastructure Senior Manager and team are responsible for the overall performance and availability of datacenters and office locations, including the physical Infrastructure, Servers, Network, Phone systems, Storage, Backups and Monitoring. The infrastructure team analyzes current infrastructure capacity and plans for future organization growth.  The senior manager is familiar with a variety of the technology concepts, practices, and procedures and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  The manager leads, mentors, and directs the work of others.
  
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop capacity planning matrix and reports to ensure adequate system and storage resources are available.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce standards for data centers and remote office locations.
  • Ensures documentation is created and kept current relating to Windows Servers support and best practices as required
  • Evaluates and recommends Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, Lync, and other Microsoft Technology related hardware and software
  • Tests and integrates hardware and software relating to upgrades or migrations
  • Ensures development and execution of system standards and policies
  • Work with vendors on roadmaps, technology, and support
  • Work with co-location data centers on capacity and offerings.
  • Ensures firmware and patch levels are kept current as it relates to infrastructure technologies
  • Plans, implements and executes Disaster Recovery and backup procedures to ensure optimum recovery of production systems and to minimize operational impact on user productivity
  • Manage and mentor local and remote team members
  • Maintain and support the data center infrastructure which includes chassis/blade servers, SAN, NAS and virtualization platform to allow proactive management of the technologies
  • Develop and review long term plans and strategies
  • Manage support incidents, escalations and migrations
  • Design and implement changes in technology and business needs
  • Responsible for providing technical feedback to the Operations management team
  • Assist with complex systems implementations where possible and appropriate
  • Provide on call assistance and support of production business systems
  • Able to work in a fast-paced 24x7 environment
  • Complete all tasks within assigned schedule and budget while maintaining a high level of quality
  • Provide periodic and accurate feedback on status of assignments
  • Identify and escalate issues and problems
  • Resolve, or seek resolution to problems, from peers, immediate manager, or other Operations personnel
  • Define standards and procedures identified for work assignments
  • Review and create all information and documents relevant to assignments in detail
  • Resolves requests or change orders in timely fashion
  • Continual learning of new technologies and management techniques

    Job Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
     
    EDUCATION LEVEL/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    Bachelor's degree in discipline appropriate to assignment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  The candidate must have 10+ years of experience supporting an enterprise infrastructure and storage environment, at least 3 years in a management role.
     
    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • Experience in Design, Configuration and Maintenance with Cisco UCS and/or other major vendor's Server product line
    • Experience in Design, Configuration and Maintenance with Pure Storage and/or other major vendor's Storage product line
    • Experience in Design, Configuration and Maintenance with Cisco routers and switches.
    • Experience with SAN/Fabric methodology and implementations
    • General knowledge of Backup methodologies
    • Expert knowledge of Windows Server OS, including Hyper-V, IIS, ADFS, Messaging infrastructure, Active Directory, Exchange migrations, Windows Servers, and related technologies
    • Advanced experience with Microsoft Visio
    • Advanced experience with Lync, ActiveSync, and Office365
    • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting desired
    • Working knowledge of ITIL v3 Framework required, certification is preferred.
