Job Description The PM Associate I position will assist the project team staff in executing the scope of work to ensure timely and economic performance with respect to schedule and budget. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES


  1. Act as liaison between field personnel and Projects Team staff.
  2. Provide troubleshooting and expertise in the areas of plan design, site layout, and project equipment and materials. 
  3. Evaluate design specifications and assist the development of project budget, schedule, scope of work, and required documents.
  4. Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) documents for sub-contractors on assigned projects as requested by Project Manager.  Review incoming bids and assist in the selection process. 
  5. Provide daily management, administration and coordination of vendors and subcontractors to aid in successful completion of construction projects as directed by the Project Manager.
  6. Procure specialized industrial and manufacturing material, equipment, and services.
  7. Coordinate and schedule all equipment for delivery to the assigned port or location in South America.  This includes all international freight forwarding documentation, and communication and coordination with the Customers designated freight or carrier service to transport the equipment to the project site. 
  8. Work with internal and external engineering resources to establish specifications, request quotes and prepare bid packages for equipment required for projects.
  9. Analyze and evaluate proposals; select or recommend vendors.
  10. Negotiate service provisions and prices with subcontractors.  Negotiate Terms & Conditions within a contractual framework with subcontractors.  Both under the direction of the Project Manager.
  11. Administer purchase orders and input information into business operations software.
  12. Manage Supplier Program, including but not limited to purchase order administration, program reviews, expediting delivery, invoice corrections, and vendor performance evaluations.
  13. Prepare weekly and monthly reports to track project progress including man hour reporting for top line.  Review progress reports and adjust schedules and material usage as necessary.
  14. Collaborate with Projects Team staff, Contract Managers, Engineering, and Cost Accounting to ensure project deliverables.
  15. Monitor the financial aspect of contracts including fee payments and invoices as well as providing verification for all incurred expenses. 
  16. Assist Customer Service department with technical inquiries received from customers.
  17. Assist the warranty department in evaluating incoming warranty claims to determine if problem is covered under warranty agreement and establish scope of warranty issue.
  18. Ensure all project work is completed in accordance with specifications, schedule, and safety.
Job RequirementsEducation/Certification: 

Bachelor degree required. 

Construction Science Management or Engineering discipline preferred
     

Required Knowledge & Experience:     

1 – 3 years industrial or other construction experience required

General knowledge of industry best practices required

General knowledge of supply chain management practices preferred

Field experience preferred

Microsoft Project experience required

AutoCAD experience required

                                                                       

Skills/Abilities:                 

Ability to read P&ID’s

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Possess excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office products

Strong strategic, analytical, organizational skills

Must be able to multi-task and operate in a fluid and fast paced environment with efficiency and accuracy

Ability to interact professionally and effectively with senior management

Ability to maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, use tact and diplomacy, and possess a customer service focus

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrate attention to detail

Acts with honesty and integrity

Bilingual in Portuguese/Spanish (not required, but beneficial)

                                               

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

Up to 20% travel required or as needed, including international travel.  Ability to sit for long periods of time.  Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time.  Must be able to speak and listen clearly.  Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions.  May be required to work in high, precarious places.  For more detail please review the ADA questionnaire on file in Human Resources.
