Job Description

Flux is currently searching for a Marketing Coordinator to be part of our onsite team in Hillsboro, OR. This person will be working with a global A/EPCM firm with more than 20 offices around the world and projects in more than 30 countries. Projects include program management services from site selection through design, construction, commissioning and start-up, for seamless project delivery.

 

Summary:

This marketing coordinator position is focused on preparing proposals, presentations, and qualifications to win semiconductor and advanced technology work for design and construction management services—a rapidly growing market. It is the perfect position for someone with strong tactical skills looking to learn and expand their understanding at a strategic level. You will work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Your role is very much that of a project manager, looking to bring together information from multiple parties, requiring tenacity and strong organizational skills. You will have unique access to upper management and team members working on-site, allowing you to gain a quick understanding of strategy and how our clients work

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinates competitive proposals, presentations, and qualifications (PPQs) with a team that may be from various geographical locations and time zones. Coordination includes: facilitating opportunity review meetings, preparing and leading proposal kick-off meetings, setting proposal timelines and assigning tasks, tracking and coordinating the completion of action items from multiple team members, developing tailored content and messaging, coordinating the review, approval, and assembly of proposals, preparing presentations, and coaching presenting teams for client interviews.
  • Leads technical teams in identifying differentiators and develops strategic messaging / positioning.
  • Maintains professional resumes for semiconductor / advanced technology sector staff.
  • Interviews project managers, engineers, and architects and writes project profiles / descriptions for semiconductor and advanced technology projects -- finding and communicating the story behind a complex technical project.
  • Performs market research on clients, competitors, opportunities, and industry trends in order to help identify client “hot button” issues and pain points.
  • Interact with staff at all levels of the organization, including but not limited to, executive and senior leadership, business development staff, project managers, and discipline leads.
  • Reports up through centralized corporate marketing department to ensure consistency of corporate messaging and brand throughout all communications.
  • Coordinates and attends tradeshows and other industry events (registration, preparation of materials, assembly of booth, and client networking).
  • Overtime, travel, and weekend hours occasionally required. Requires flexibility when needed to meet deadlines.

    Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • Requires strong project management skills, process oriented approach, and attention to detail to manage large projects with multiple moving parts. This includes a strong penchant for proactive communication to get what you need from team members in order to meet deadlines.
    • Must be able to help the team define and then articulate a strong value proposition and differentiator to develop a winning strategy on PPQs.
    • Strong planning, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills mandatory.
    • Work collaboratively and effectively as a team member, as well as able to work independently, while adhering to strict deadlines.
    • Must be a self-starter, able to work with little direction and bring things together.
    • Excellent writing skills including the ability to interview technical staff on highly complex projects and distill into a compelling message.
    • Customer-service skills mandatory.
    • Knowledge of prevailing software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, professional sales or related field.
    • 3-7 years of experience in AEC industry or similar professional services environment in a marketing capacity with exposure to the proposal and presentation process.
    • Experience coordinating complex, fast paced projects.
    • Knowledge of semiconductor / advanced technology or industrial / manufacturing markets preferred.
    • Previous experience managing clients preferred. Some client interfacing required.
