Maintenance Technician - Welder (TMMI) OVERVIEW:
MacLellan Integrated Services provides critical process cleaning, maintenance and support services to the automotive manufacturing industry throughout the U.S. and Canada.
We are expanding our footprint of services and are seeking to fulfill a critical Maintenance Welder position for our customer site in Princeton, Indiana. This key role will partner with our customer and our operations staff to identify opportunities to improve quality, increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Working in a self-directed diverse team based environment, this journeyman level Maintenance Technician applies expertise in all welding aspects of industrial maintenance in performing skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment. The primary role of this position is to perform various welding applications associated with fabricating and repairing machinery and equipment in an automotive manufacturing plant with operations that include body weld, assembly, paint and plant engineering. This position requires adjusting to the changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on problem solving and continuously improving safety, quality and productivity.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery using standard and specialized hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment in accordance with standardized procedures.
Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails and construct machinery and equipment foundations using building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
Assemble machinery and fasten to foundation or other structures with bolts, welds, or rivets.
Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, squares, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs.
Design, layout, fabricate and install various project materials.
Perform welding using the following techniques: MIG welding, TIG welding, Stick welding, Silver solder, Pipe welding and Stainless welding.
Interact with key customer contacts on a daily basis, and continuously build and maintain customer relationships.
Demonstrate safe habits.
Maintain high moral standards
Maintain consistent high quality standards at all points of service.
Provide Manager with regular updates on activity status and customer interaction.
Ensure customer satisfaction through measurement and reporting, taking prompt action when needed.
Maintenance Technician - Welder (TMMI) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2 year technical degree from a certified trade school or technical college in mechanics or an accredited welding apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5 years of progressive, journeyman level welding experience performing facilities and equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean principles and proactive maintenance practices in process critical manufacturing facilities, auto manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience with safety principles, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA’s) and the use of PPE.
Exceptional customer service, communications, interpersonal, and team building skills.
Demonstrated exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.
Computer skills with proficiency using MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint).
Ability to effectively collaborate with peers, management, subordinates and corporate resources to positively impact performance.
Ability to interact effectively with customers in difficult situations.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT AND/OR WEEKENDS AS PART OF REGULAR WORK SCHEDULE.
