Position Overview

eRAD Corp. is actively seeking enthusiastic, focused, and well-organized individuals to join the eRAD Global Services Division (GSD) supporting our IT infrastructure.

The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems, hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within our infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, and partners.


This individual is accountable for the following systems: Linux and Windows systems that support GSD infrastructure; Linux, Windows, VMWare and Application systems that support external and internal customers; Responsibilities on these systems include Engineering and Provisioning, Operations and Support, Maintenance also there is a need to do research and development to ensure continual innovation.

Engineering and Provisioning

Engineering of solutions for various project and operational needs.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories,    storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Install and configure systems such as supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Contribute to and maintain system standards.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.  Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

Operations and Support
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

Windows Active Directory configurations and modifications.

Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
Provide support per request from various constituencies.  Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.  Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Upgrade and configure system software that supports GSD infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs.
Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.  Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

Skills Required:

  • Four to six years system administration experience.
  • Strong IT, networking, and computer skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex applications and software products.
  • Strong understanding and experience with PC and Server hardware platforms.
  • Knowledge of archival and storage media.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnosis, and analytical skills. A true problem solver, under stressful environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork.
  • Linux system administration.
  • All Windows Operating systems (Server and Windows 7 and above)
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to install and configure hardware and software.
  • Candidate must have a strong grasp of computer security. Upkeep of firewalls and intrusion detection systems
  • Recommended Qualifications:

  • Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft.
  • PACS / Radiology experience a Plus
  • Radiology Workflow experience a plus
  • BA / BS Degree
  • Comp TIA Linux or RHCA or RHCT Certifications

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.
    • Introducing and integrating new technologies into existing data center environments.
    • Performing routine audit of systems and software.
    • Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
    • Installing and configuring new hardware and software.
    • Adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
    • Answering technical queries and assisting users.
    • Responsibility for security.
    • Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the systems.
    • Troubleshooting any reported problems.
    • System performance tuning.
    • Ensuring that the network infrastructure is up and running.
    • Configuring, adding, and deleting file systems.

    Organizational Alignment

    • Reports to the Manager of Data Center Operations.
    • Enlists the support of sales specialists, service resources, engineering resources, development resources and management resources as needed.
    • Closely coordinates company executive involvement with customer management.
    • Works closely with all company team members to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
