This position works closely with the Engineering group, Manufacturing, and Quality to help develop and maintain manufacturing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for all aspects of process related functions in the manufacturing area. Assures that all processes are optimized to produce high quality product at the most efficient rate possible.
Works with the customer and suppliers as required on tool repairs, improvements, and engineering changes. Also responsible for developing and implementing continuous process improvements and systems for the manufacturing department.
Assisting the Manufacturing Department with troubleshooting and training of the technical staff and development of processes on new tooling and jobs, including all required documentation for use on the manufacturing floor.
New process development and associated documentation assuring that all new processes are capable of current customer quality and quoted cycle time expectations prior to release to the manufacturing floor.
Assist in troubleshooting all process related issues.
Analyze and assist in researching alternate or new materials.
Assist manufacturing and quality assurance with tool and process improvements for quality, productivity, and scrap reduction.
Coordinate all tool repairs and engineering changes performed at outside sources, working with the customer and tool shops as required.
Maintaining PCN, tool movement, build requests, and sample logs.
Maintaining the tool PM record system in cooperation with the Tool PM technician.
Assist the Project Engineering/ Launch team with coordination regarding sample scheduling and sample runs, maintain good run records and reporting results from each run to the responsible Project and Quality Engineer.
Development and implementation of systems used for all process documentation, variable control, and job setup.
Participation in launch team meetings and making recommendations to the team with regard to process related issues.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a major in Plastic Technology required: Familliarity with RJG de-coupled molding techniques.
