Job Description

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver will operate a commercial mother vehicle to transport freight in inter- or intra-state commerce between home terminal to distant point(s) and return.

 

Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Provide a positive experience when interacting with internal or external customers

  • Pre-trip and post-trip to determine safe operating condition before and after any trip

  • Check shipping papers to determine nature of load and any special hazards, and check load itself and methods of securing it. Verify that your paperwork matches customer on labeled windows/doors in trailers.

  • Operate vehicle in compliance with company rules and all applicable state and federal regulations, and in accordance with principles of safe driving

  • Submit all documentation timely to office. This includes customer proof of delivery, timesheet, logs, fuel tickets, trip report, expenses and any other business related receipt.

  • Deliver company window and door products to customer locations. Assist customer with unloading/loading of product.  Driver responsible for tailgating the windows. Be engaged in full delivery process to ensure accuracy in the recording of items delivered and paperwork verifying delivery.

  • Note any discrepancy on paperwork and text/email copy of ticket with comments to transportation office via company smart phone prior to leaving customer location.

  • Pick up backhauls as required. This could include MGM materials as well as paying backhauls.  Driver is entitled to 15% of each paying backhaul.

  • Report all accidents, incidents of equipment damage involving driver or company equipment immediately to transportation office.

  • Maintain trip records as required and turn in to transportation office at the end of each work week.

  • Maintain for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, etc. and turn in to transportation office at the end of every work week.

  • Proper use and care of all equipment assigned to him/her for the performance of his/her duties.

  • Reports promptly any delays that will affect pick up or delivery appointments.

  • Perform other related work as required or assigned.

    Education and Certification Qualifications

    • Class A CDL required

    • Must be at least 23 years of age

    • Must have 2 years of recent verifiable driving experience

    • Clean MVR

    • Must be able to pass background check and meet drug/alcohol and DOT requirements
