Incumbent will assist in maintaining a clean, well-stocked, and safe lab, and will assist in the smooth operation of the facility.

Essential Functions

  • Adherence to company safety practices, including the proper use of PPE, is mandatory.

  • Assist with morning laboratory preparations (posting Tomtec schedules, preparing dryers, etc.)

  • Ensure that the bioanalytical labs are clean and well-organized (labs are free of trash, dust, etc., materials are in their proper locations)

  • Ensure that the labs are well-prepared for client/regulatory visits

  • Ensure that the bioanalytical labs are supplied with clean lab-ware (glass, metal, and plastic)—lab-ware will be processed either manually or via the dishwasher

  • Perform waste disposal, which includes:

  • Liquids from wet and mass spec labs

  • Solids (including glass)

  • Biohazard liquids and solids (including glass), via Biohazard bags and boxes

  • Receive supplies (standing order and general supplies), distribute and arrange as necessary.

  • Ensure that the labs are well-stocked with supplies (SOP forms, standing orders, general supplies, labels, first aid supplies, solvents, etc.)

  • Maintain supply storage room

  • Conduct inventories as necessary (solvent, supply, first aid kit, etc.) and communicate supply requirements to Purchasing

  • Assist with clinical supply projects as necessary

  • Assist with inventory control, disposal, and organization (freezers, compounds, blank matrix, etc.)

  • Assist with general equipment inspections and maintenance

  • Shred documents as necessary

  • Assist with the disposal of recyclable materials

    Education / Experience (minimum degree level and/or minimum number of years experience – including field of study and/or experience)

    High School Diploma, with scientific coursework or equivalent experience preferred.
