Job Description

A company in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Financial Analyst for a full-time position with a starting pay of $50k-$60k (BOE).  We are looking for someone who has great analytical skills, can handle a heavy workload, and work in a fast-paced environment. 

Job Description/Responsibilities:
  • Month end close – journal entries, general ledger analysis, reconciliations, reporting requirements, data submittal.
  • Validation of integrity of data for accuracy in reporting, which includes investigation and reporting accounting issues, errors, and discrepancies.
  • Cash forecasting – associated compilation and analysis, along with review of check runs.
  • Payroll processing backup for Human Resource Department.
  • Fixed asset, capital, and depreciation maintenance/tracking.  
  • Preparation of appropriate capital documentation (for purchases, disposal, leases, property, improvements, etc).  
  • Tracking of fixed assets, corresponding depreciation, maintenance of capital spend in and outside of budget, etc.
  • Respond to various requests for information pertaining to assets, capital, general accounting, general ledger, budgets, forecasting, etc.
  • Provide necessary support and data for audits, internal control requirements, forecasting, budgeting, special projects, etc.
  • Preparation and filing of Property Tax Returns, or provide data when outsourced.
  • Assist in preparation of 1099’s and subsequent 1096.

    Education / Experience / Skills

    • Minimum 5 years Automotive Manufacturing General & Asset Accounting experience.
    • Minimum BBA in Finance or Accounting required.
    • Experience in use of MRP systems.  PLEX experience is especially helpful, but not required.
    • Professional and effective communication and representation skills.
    • Must be very organized and detail oriented with great deal of emphasis on accuracy.
    • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Manage time effectively.
    • Must be able to travel (approx 25%).
    • Must be highly motivated, open to change, self-directed, and possess a great level of initiative.
