Job Description Quality Manager

 

A tier I automotive supplier is looking for a Corporate Quality Manager to help support multiple manufacturing organizations from a corporate office in Troy, MI.  

 

The Corporate Quality Manager is responsible for directing and managing the quality functions within several plants throughout North America. They will work closely with plant operations in the areas of quality, program management, inspection coordination, and testing requirements.

  • Administer quality assurance activities in compliance with customer specifications, reliability plans and safety standards
  • Administer a total quality cost evaluation and reporting system
  • Implement a comprehensive statistical quality control program
  • Specifies and monitors measures to improve the process system and controls the implementation for all required activities for health, safety and environmental conditions related to quality
  • Reports on the efficiency of the process system to leadership
  • Identify and maintain measurement of PPM ration potential
  • Liaison with customer in regards to concerns
  •  

    Environmental Management:

  • Responsible for meeting the facility, environmental, health and safety objectives as it relates to safety
  • Ensures corrective and preventative action is conducted
  • Responsible for conducting production practices in compliance with policies, standards and procedures
  • Ensures accountability and responsibility for on-site service providers and contractors for environmental performance

    Job Requirements

    The ideal person will have the following experience:

    • Bachelors in Engineering/Quality
    • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified (preferred)
    • 5+ years  Automotive quality management experience
    • APQP, TS 16949
    • Must have VDA quality systems experience
    • Knowledge of appropriate procedures for planning and optimizing quality processes
    • SAP (strong computer skills)
