    SUMMARY

    Directs activities of Inside Sales department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate in order to meet or exceed quarterly budgeted sales goals.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Operational responsibilities

    1. Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
    2. Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume and potential sales based on data from sales staff. Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line. Works within the sales department and operations to keep excess and obsolete inventory to a minimum.
    3. Owns the periodic Customer stocking / Kanban contract. Perform review and execution directly or through subordinate.
    4. Support and Mentor the Inside Sales department team members to resolve issues and influence efficiency.
    5. Work very closely with the Outside Sales Manager to build and implement the TCS Sales strategy and tactics.
    6. Owns the best customer service practices and the implementation within the IS department
    7. Represents the company at Customers meeting to present performance of TCS and to promote product.
    8. Handle a limited set of accounts
    9. Work with staff level peers within business unit as well as peers in other business units to support overall division goals, stay current with practices and adjust resources as needed.
    10. Create and implement tactics to get the Inside Sales Department actively participating to the Sales at exsiting customers
    11. Represent the sales department on Audits
    12. Long term management responsibilities
    13. Participate and contribute as a member of SBU staff
    14. Strategic issues
    15. Recommends process improvement projects
    16. Helps to identify and qualify potential new products and markets where success may be recognize

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops a staffing plan that supports the goals of the strategic plan (S/P)
  • Attracts, recruits, hires, fires, reorganizes when appropriate in relation to the capabilities within the sales staff
  • Develops short, medium and long-term goals and objectives for staff tied to SP goals
  • Trains, develops, motivates staff as team builders, leaders, members or as individual contributors as appropriate
  • Plans and prioritizes staff workload to support business unit objectives
  • Provide staff with tools, training and support from other functions such as HR, IT, Accounting
  • Conduct probationary, annual and promotional reviews in a timely and professional manner providing career guidance and growth opportunities to staff

    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience in sales and management or equivalent combination of education and experience. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    Physical Demands:

    • Air travel will often be required, hence the individual should not have a fear of flyig and should have sufficient stamina to remain effective during periods of extended travel
    • To successfully fulfill the role as sales manager you will be required to travel, occasionally in excess of a week at a time.

     

    Work Environment:

    • Quiet, office environment
    • Regular travel, including overseas

     

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    • Use of safety glasses when in Manufacturing and Test areas
    • Steel Toe Shoes – where required
