Job Description Doncasters - Meco in Paris, IL is currently recruiting highly skilled, motivated Quality Engineer with demonstrated experience and ability to:
     

DUTIES/WORK PERFORMED:

  • Work within the company policies to manage the quality assurance aspects of new product introduction.
  • Provide oversight of the manufacture of products to ensure that engineering documentation is consistent with manufacturing methods employed.
  • Coordinate activities associated with “first article build" of new products, ensuring that fabricated items are traceable to documented standards at the time of release of product into the production mode.
  • Develop test methods/procedures to support product validation efforts.
  • Maintain test equipment to traceable standards accepted in the aerospace industry.
  • Perform performance validation tests to meet customer specifications.
  • Generate test reports of performance validation tests.
  • Maintain housekeeping at and around department.  Apply 6S principles to all areas of the plant.

  • Wear all personal protective equipment necessary to task and area.

  • Follow all quality systems and Meco, Inc. operating procedures as applies to certifications, duties and training matrix.

  • Follow all Meco rules and regulations, including safety rules.

  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.

  • Job Requirements EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

    • BS/BA in engineering, math, statistics, technical or related field (R); Professional certification as CQE (P).

    AND/ OR YEARS EXPERIENCE

    • 3-5 years quality control or quality assurance (R); 3-5 years implementing and maintaining statistical process control   (R); 3-5 years performing quality data analysis and employing statistical problem solving  (R); 2-3 years as training instructor on statistical tools  (P).

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Coordinates continual improvement work groups and SPC methods. Provide managers and supervisors with detailed analytical studies and reports on data relative to complex quality issues or problems throughout the manufacturing process

    • Understanding of manufacturing workflow, including planning activities.

    • Understanding of aerospace and ISO 9000 quality policies, basic Quality engineering principles.

    • Ability to work well in a team environment.
