Job Description Electrical Maintenance Technician
The main function of the Electrical Maintenance Technician is to install and repair systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties:

  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, control systems and PLC's.
  • Tests malfunctions machinery.
  • Discuss with supervisor to diagnose malfunction, using schematics, diagrams, manuals, PLC programs and appropriate test equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance by lubricating and cleaning parts, replacing components, and following other PM procedures.
  • Performs other duties as instructed.

    Job RequirementsSome of the requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Technician will include:

    • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school and 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Electrical Maintenance Certificate a plus
    • The Electrical Maintenance Technician must be able to read blueprints, electrical schematic interpretations.
    • Must be able to perform mechanical maintenance on hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives and advanced electrical controls and automation. 
    • The Electrical Maintenance Technician must have knowledge of electronic and electro-hydraulic systems.
    • Welding knowledge is a plus
