Job Description

  • Responsible for timely and accurate payroll preparation/processing for all weekly payrolls

  • Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and department transfers.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local tax and compliance requirements.

  • Prepares journal entries for weekly payroll

  • Analyze and reconcile select balance sheet and income statement accounts related to payroll

  • Oversight of wage garnishment processing for weekly payroll

  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.

  • Balances the payroll accounts to general ledger

  • Processes monthly benefit invoices for payment to vendors

  • Balances benefit accounts by reconciling them to payroll, benefit invoices, accounts payable and general ledger

  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.

  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional

  • Job Requirements


    • Requires 5 or more years’ experience of payroll management

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

    • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel

    • Accomplished verbal/written communication skills
