MACHINE SHOP / TOOLING MANAGER

 

For Technical company working on an INNOVATIVE form of High-Speed Transportation

 

**DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY**

Tooling Manager will be responsible for shop and personnel management, the development and fabrication of new and existing engineering projects and tooling

Responsibilities:

  • Efficient coordination with engineering and timely fabrication of new and existing system components, tooling, and engineering projects
  • Produce quotation requests, design approvals, and monitoring of quotation activities
  • Perform technical support to manufacturing, process engineering, automation, and maintenance
  • Planning, directing, and facilitating, fabrication, maintenance, and replacement of tooling and manufacturing equipment
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing/fabrication meeting methodologies and techniques
  • Lead design modifications and improvement efforts on existing equipment to achieve increased efficiency and improve quality
  •  

    Management Experience:

  • Experience managing heavy industrial shop and ensured quality production as well as production rates
  • Familiar with Aerospace style drawings and fabrication requirements, and has directed fabrication of aerospace components and large assemblies
  • Familiar with automated and semi-automated tools
  • Has managed start to finish fabrication and assembly process on large complex assemblies (raw materials to installation to finished products)


  • Job Requirements
    • 10+ years of experience in Machining, Fabrication, Tooling, Manufacturing, and/or Production industries
    • 5+ years of management and supervision experience leading a diverse group of people
    • 4-year degree in Engineering related field desired. An equivalent combination or relevant experience and education are acceptable
    • Strong working knowledge of current versions of CAD. NX and Team Center preferred
    • Experience working with welded Steel, aluminum fabrication, roll forming, and plate bending
    • Large weldment fabrication and post machining experience
    • Solid understanding of GD&T and drawings/ ASME Y14.5
    • Working knowledge of laser trackers, CMMS, manual measurement techniques
    • working knowledge of waterjet operations and maintenance
    • Experience in design & proto-type work as well as large scale manufacturing
    • CNC programming, set-up and operator experience
