Job Description

Key responsibilities/skills:

  • Supervises and coordinates daily job functions of head-end technicians.
  • Manage the daily operations of the head-end. Coordinate all activities between head-end and other departments to ensure continuous business operation.
  • Proactively supports and motivates employees.
  • Establish performance goals and monitors progress through coaching, mentoring and career development.
  • Communicates and manages to Atlantic Broadband policies and procedures.
  • Foster a climate of mutual respect that values the contributions of individual team members and maximizes the diverse talents of each employee.
  • Ensure system and staff is able to respond to the demands of new technology deployment through demonstrative methods.
  • Work with other departments as necessary to maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of new technology being deployed.
  • Monitor video and audio quality of services delivered on the forward and reverse.
  • Perform daily check of RF Levels and head-end alignment.
  • Verify video and audio levels for satellite and stereo processing equipment.
  • Monitor Commercial Insertion equipment for performance as needed.
  • Perform status monitoring of RF and data performance, further report and/or repair discrepancies.

    Minimum Qualifications


    5 years in Cable Television industry and with a minimum of two years in an advanced technical field role. Successful completion of SCTE or NCTI advanced technician course or SCTE BCE Certification. 2+ years related experience in a Supervisory position preferred. Experience with Video On-Demand, High Speed Data and Telephony are preferred. Experience working in a Microsoft Office environment required. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
