Job Description

LexisNexis is looking for an experienced Consulting DevOps Cloud Engineer to help lead our emerging DevOps team. In this role, you will actively participate with an existing group of DevOps engineers, developers, and operations team to design, develop, implement, and optimize a complete end-to-end DevOps solution that transforms the organization at the enterprise level.


DevOps Cloud Engineering plays an integral role in implementing and executing the product release processes. The role supports LexisNexis software engineering by managing the source code management system, automating builds and regression testing, building tools and monitoring used in software deployments, and coordinating and pushing new releases all the environment which reside in AWS. The DevOps Cloud Engineering team ensures that new software is released in a streamlined manner from development to production. The team establishes procedures and develops tools that are used by both the Engineering and Operations teams. As a DevOps Cloud Engineer you'll use your strong technical ability to drive product releases across many different systems and teams. You'll work hard to ensure that LexisNexis's products are delivered with a repeatable and scalable process.

 

Specifically, You Will

  •          Serve as acknowledged go to person on design, implementation and technical issues.
  •          Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the cloud build and deployment ecosystem
  •          Support and improve our tools for continuous build, automated testing and release management process from development to production which is AWS
  •          Own, manage and improve our release process. Focus on scale and efficiency
  •          Build and maintain tools needed during release pushes
  •          Drive Lexis Advance application releases
  •          Mentor and lead DevOps engineers interested in consultancy on DevOps
  •  



    Job Requirements

    You Should Have

    •          BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
    •          AWS Certifications or equivalent experience
    •          At least 10+ years’ combined experience in software engineering, devops, and/or system engineering
    •          Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux and/or extensive knowledge of Windows
    •          Expertise with multiple scripting languages, Python experience highly desired
    •          Expertise with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible or SaltStack
    •          Expertise with build tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus, Gradle, Packer and MSBuild
    •          Expertise automating build and release processes
    •          Expertise in industry technology language development trends.
    •          Strong familiarity with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems, Git and VSTS experience highly desired
    •          Strong knowledge in industry best practices in external resource development.
    •          Ability to partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs
    •          Advanced problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making
