Seeking Litigation Support Specialist contractor to support the efforts of a federal government agency. Contractor will perform the following duties and responsibilities on a regular and recurring basis: Provides technical advice to litigation teams on legal automation options, systems capabilities, and support services available to aid in case preparation, trial preparation and presentation. Applies knowledge of Federal Criminal and Civil procedures, court requirements, local rules, polices and guidelines, and district practices. Performs a wide range of information system analysis, development and installation in support of litigation support activities for assigned cases. In coordination with Attorneys, investigators, federal agents, and paralegal specialists, the contractor becomes familiar with the details of the case and the government's strategy for proving it. The contractor analyzes litigation support requirements to develop or recommend appropriate strategies to meet litigation needs. The contractor recommends alternative methods and promotes the use of automated approaches as well as visual means. Develops project management strategies and tools for gathering, tracking, processing, reviewing, organizing, and producing case information in an effective, efficient, and defensible manner. The contractor recommends a variety of software packages including database, spreadsheet and word processing applications based on which software would be most effective for organization and management of information and documents, presentation of complex and voluminous evidence or production of graphic demonstrative evidence. The contractor recommends best practices and procedures for processing information as part of case preparation. In consultation with the District’s Litigation Support Manager, the contractor recommends, when appropriate, the use of the Litigation Technology Service Center (LTSC) or MEGA IV litigation support contractors and arranges for such support.
2-5 years of experience in a litigation support, electronic discovery and/or technology support environment.
Experience with Relativity
Experience analyzing incoming electronic data to determine appropriate processing requirements
Experience with performing complex searches, managing the technical administration of document reviews and producing data to outside parties using common litigation support platforms
Experience working directly with a variety of technical and non-technical users
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet tight deadlines
Excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills
U.S. Citizenship and a background investigation.
Knowledge of, and skill in applying, most of the following:
IT/LS concepts, principles, methods, and practices;
Visual design concepts;
Performance management/measurement methods, tools, and techniques;
Systems testing and evaluation principles, methods, and tools;
IT/LS security principles and methods,
Requirement analysis principles and methods;
Internet technologies to analyze the internet potential of litigation support systems, networks, and data;
Cost-benefit analysis principles and methods and budgeting;
New and emerging information technologies and/or industry trends;
Analytical methods and practices;
Project management principles and methods; and
Oral and written communication techniques.
