Job Description

The Web Content Developer will also interface with stakeholders and clients to understand
content gaps and needs and coordinate feedback on final products.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

The Web Content Developer will  lead digital program and partner with project managers, business analysts, web producers, writers, graphic designers, developers, and QA resources to successfully produce a dynamic Digital User Experience.  Oversee the development of content for interactive tools and the planning  and migration of web content within a Content Management  System. 

50 % writing 
50 % quality assurance and analysis.

SPECIFIC  RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

● Serve as a content strategy specialist in a series of projects to develop and enhance the user portal and interactive tools on the website:

o Develop content strategy to guide tool development

o Review and normalize data

o Translate content into structured fields for reuse in a content  repository database

o Develop content, such as short descriptions, question sets, error messages, and tooltips

o Conduct quality assurance content reviews

o Create tool overviews to assist in the development of communication  plans

o Develop training materials to educate internal stakeholders on tool purpose and functionality

● Evaluate numerous  microsites for migration and integration into the pubic website

o Evaluate, analyze, and document content relationships to identify gaps and duplication

o Evaluate content for incorporation into information architecture  systems

o Create detailed content matrix documentation mapping current content to new architecture

o Optimize content for web readability, usable layout, SEO, and  accessibility

o Write metadata, headlines, and introductory text

o Apply a Style consistent with the organization; Chicago Manual of Style

o Manipulate content in a web Content Management System WYSIWYG editor

Job Requirements

● Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, information science, or a related field
● 2  + years of experience writing for the web using CMS (content management system).
● Excellent editorial expertise
● Ability to work independently
● Strong time management skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND  EXPERIENCE:

● Experience in a complex website migration of more than 1,000  pages
● Knowledge of SEO best practices
● Knowledge of Section 508 web accessibility compliance  regulations
● Knowledge of HTML 5 and CSS 3
● Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and experience using formulas to manipulate textual content
● Agency experience a plus
