Application Instructor

New Horizons Computer Learning Center in Memphis is growing and adding new Employees! We have an immediate need for an Application Instructor to teach our students various software applications. 

Position summary

  • The Instructor provides innovative, practical, and dynamic computer training to prepare students for attain certifications, gain associated job knowledge, and development in their career path.  New Horizons Computer Learning Centers offers multiple learning modalities: instructor-led, online, and self-paced. Instructor must have familiarity with online delivery platforms such as Adobe Connect, WebEx, Skype, Live Meeting, or GoToMeeting.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct training classes covering specified areas, as scheduled by the Regional Schedulers
  • Maintain and exceed all published course evaluation and other performance minimums
  • Support sales efforts by contributing product and training expertise as needed
  • Develop teaching aids such as demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works as required to effectively teach curriculum
  • Maintain accurate, up to date knowledge of specific topics taught and general IT industry trends
  • Obtain and maintain all certifications required to teach assigned courses
  • Occasionally provide on-site training to our corporate clients
  • Travel to other New Horizons Computer Learning Centers could be needed
  • Job Requirements

    Education and Experience

    • Two year degree or equivalent experience, applicants with certifications will have preference over other candidates
    • Experience with training, teaching, public-speaking, or performing

     

    Knowledge and Abilities

     

    • Expert level experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people
    • Ability to learn new technical material quickly
    • Must be dependable and have a positive attitude
    • Exposure to Microsoft Access, Project, SharePoint, Adobe Suite, and Crystal Reports is a plus
