HomeServices of Iowa is a full-service brokerage consisting of five company brands: Iowa Realty, Iowa Realty Commercial, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices First Realty, Midland Title & Escrow, and Iowa Title Company. The CFO will work as a partner with the CEO of the regional operating company to develop and execute business plans to support the overall strategy of HomeServices of America. This position will establish and utilize key operating metrics and financial analysis to assess and drive business performance. Implement policies, procedures, and controls to facilitate the timely, accurate and consistent reporting of financial results and assures compliance with financial and legal reporting requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and administer business plans and budgets, along with goals and deliverables, to align the business with strategy and create value

  • Lead creation of annual budget, set budget goals, review results vs plan and make adjustments to align with business objectives

  • Consult with and advise all segments of management concerning operation of the business as it relates to the attainment of objectives and the effectiveness of policies, organization structure and procedures

  • Manage operating and capital expenditures to attain EBITDA projections

  • Administer tax policies and procedures

  • Assure protection of the business and its assets through internal controls, policies, procedures, and necessary insurance coverage

  • Appraise and interpret the effect of economic factors and other external factor on the business

  • Perform administrative activities necessary for effective management, including employee safety, selection and development, salary and budget administration, employee counseling and motivation, communicating organizational goals and objectives, and planning, integrating, measuring and reporting work performance

  • Job Requirements
    • MBA/Bachelors degree in business, finance or accounting

    • Ten plus years experience in a financial/accounting position with increasing responsibility

    • Experience in financial services, mortgage or real estate a plus

    • Proven competency in corporate finance/accounting to include budgeting, reporting, business planning, compliance, and general business management

    • Strong leadership, interpersonal and team building skills

    • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills

    • Project management skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
