Job Description

TPG is seeking motivated, dependable and safe Technical Test Technician/Driver’s to perform technical test functions, vehicle operations, vehicle maintenance, test function support including, but not limited to travel arrangements and administrative data reporting, tool and parts acquisition, vehicle repair and maintenance and housekeeping per customer instruction, for a worldwide automotive company in Ann Arbor, MI.

Responsibilities and Duties



TECHNICAL TEST TECHNICIAN/ DRIVER SKILLS/ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Routinely travel for 1 to 2-week trips (could be longer)
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, shipment of vehicle, logistics and supplies as applicable
  • Scout cities for events and plan & document routes
  • Basic troubleshooting of computer and instrumentation (mostly connections and basic stuff)
  • Inventory maintenance, ancillary tasks
  • Able to accurately activate data logger and maintain hardware and software in vehicle utilized for data collection
  • Able to transfer data for shipment to customer or upload for internet transfer if requested

    TECHNICAL TEST TECHNICIAN/ DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Basic Administrative and Technology Skills
    • Strong computer skills, including documentation of events, expense reports, etc.
    • Strong Interpersonal skills - will travel with someone regularly
    • Approximately 50% travel
    • Able to work overtime when needed
    • Self-Motivated
    • Able to drive for long periods of time (alone and with other Engineers)

    TECHNICAL TEST TECHNICIAN/ DRIVER MIMIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 5 years of driving experience with excellent driving record.
    • Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug free.
    • Must have good vision, hearing and motor skills.
    • Able to sit for prolonged periods routinely exceeding eight or more hours.
    • Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and possible overtime.
    • Basic computer skills and ability to operate GPS.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly both written and orally.
