Job RequirementsEXPERIENCE: Two years related experience as RN in acute care hospital setting and preferred 1-2 years’ experience as a nurse practitioner. Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and two years of graduate study in an AMA approved Physician’s Assistant program. Current registration as Physician’s Assistant in the State of Rhode Island. An extremely high level of analytical ability in order to apply post-surgical training to the treatment of patients. Good interpersonal skills in order to deal effectively with patients and nursing personnel. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. EXPERIENCE: Three months on-the-job training and experience to become familiar with job responsibilities and work routines. Bachelor's Degree and Graduate of Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program required. Must be board certified by ANCC.. Master's degree and previous experience in an academic medical center environment preferred. 3 -5 years of experience preferably in a Pain, Spine, or Orthopedic practice, with management experience of intrathecal pump patients Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to deal effectively and empathically with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team. The following current valid licenses will be required: RI license to practice as a NP; Federal DEA certificate; State Controlled Substance Certificate in RI, and ACLS provider trained. Masters of Science Degree, Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Specialty certification required. Baccalaureate in Nursing Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
