Job Description

 

The Junior Regulatory Compliance Specialist is part of the team responsible for aiding in the assurance of the Company’s compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, while identifying and mitigating risks related to the Company's Pipeline assets.  This position assists with compliance function activities related to the assets in the Gulf.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Assists in the evaluation of the regulatory compliance functions adhering to federal and state regulations including, but not limited to the following:  permits, hazardous waste handling and compliance.

  •   Assists with ongoing compliance with regards to regulatory compliance requirements as well as hazardous waste handling.

  • Supports all Company regulatory operations.

  • Assists with regulatory audits to ensure compliance.

  •   Limited interface with governmental agencies relating to ongoing remediation projects

  • Assist with the upkeep of permits, business plans and filing of regulatory reports (air, water, etc.).

  •   Responsible for up-to-date information on state, federal and local regulators, issues and current technologies.

  •   Supports the development and design of operating requirements of pipeline facilities to ensure compliance with regulations.

  •   Analyze, interpret, establish and administer regulatory policies for pipeline operations.

  • Contact for inquiries, issues and audits related to regulations in support of regulatory and environmental compliance requirements.

     

  • Job Requirements

     

    Education and Basic Requirements

     

    •   B. S. in Engineering or related field desired

    •   Knowledge of Regulatory and Environmental Compliance, as they relate to the Oil Industry with 2-3 years of experience

    • Working knowledge of DOT and BSEE requirements

    • Proficient in MS Office and MS Projects

    •   Demonstrated ability to make sound recommendations and project plans that secure the continuing safe and compliant operation of the business

    •   Excellent interpersonal skills (training, presentation, team collaboration and communication) with the ability to influence others

    •   Must be able to successfully pass Drug and Alcohol pre-employment and ongoing screening.
