Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Project Manager, Construction. This position is responsible for managing multiple construction, repair, and renovation projects of moderate design and construction complexity, volume, budget and timelines. The Project Manager manages the consultant selection process and contract negotiations; provides documentation for contracts; and manages out-sourced architectural and engineering consultants. The Project Manager works with project constituents to develop scope of work, conducts project meetings; visits site, ensures contract compliance, provides input to project management software program, and closes out projects upon completion. The Project Manager participates in the development of strategic project planning and interprets and enforces building codes and standards.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent skills in project and budget management; problem solving and analytical; effective decision making; and verbal, written and graphic communication. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the ability to interpret and develop contractual language regarding scope of work and formalized policies, guidelines, rules and regulations; and prioritize and manage multiple complex commercial design projects. Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and four years OR a Master’s Degree and two years of progressively responsible experience as a project manager for small to medium construction projects.

Nevada Class C or higher Operator’s license

Schedule/Travel Requirements: Occasional evenings and weekends required in support of the operational schedule; may require travel on a limited basis.
