Job Description Field Supervisor - Tile Installations DeSitter Flooring is an award winning, 3rd generation family owned business founded in 1920. We are looking for a Field Supervisor – Tile candidate to join our growing team. The individual should demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to be forward thinking, a great team player and the willingness to pursue excellence.

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and works in conjunction with the Tile Installation Estimator, Customer Service and the Sales Team. The Field Supervisor-Tile is responsible for the overall installation management of Tile, including managing the installers and troubleshooting problems.   • Duties include:

  • Pre-Sale Assessment and visit to job site with Installation Estimator in order to assist with quoting installation labor on the more complex jobs
  • Pre-install job site assessments to be sure the site is ready for installation
  • Day of Installation -- Review all details of each order with Installers, to include design drawings, RFMS drawings, work orders and job site review
  • Attend weekly meeting with installation team and Supervisors
  • Final walk through -- “Punch list" with client/builder and immediate follow thru with installer to resolve issues toward job completion
  • Occasionally be required to use their installation skills to resolve installation or repair issues when there are no other options available. In such cases, a “charge-back" to the installer may be required
  • Final check on setting materials and tile to be delivered for installation the next day
  • Vetting of new installers – Site visits are required to spot check installers and the quality of their installation skills
  • Site visits to inspect and evaluate our current installers
  • Educate the installers on DeSitter job site expectations and etiquette
  • Provide installation guidance and training to installers who need their level of performance raised
  • Conduct quarterly Installer Meetings – Review procedures and problems with installers
  • Research installation materials and procedures for various Tile installations we encounter

  • Job Requirements Field Supervisor - Tile Installations The required skills to be a successful in this position are:

    • At least 5+ years managing and /or performing professional tile installations
    • At least 3 years of Supervisory experience on job sites
    • Experience reading in reading blue prints or tile diagrams is required
    • Strong Organizational and Communication skills
