Rockwell Collins is hiring Embedded Software Engineers at all levels.  We are offering full
relocation packages to assist with your move.

Rockwell Collins is a pioneer in the development and deployment of innovative communication solutions for government applications. We specialize in the development of high quality, highly secure solutions for the U.S. military, to support airborne platforms and ground based systems across multiple programs. We looking for dynamic Embedded Software Engineers to participate in key development activities including, design, development, integration and testing of Mission System Software.  Therefore, if you have Embedded Software Development experience, with a DOD clearance or have the ability to obtain one, we would like to talk to you! 

As an Embedded Software Engineer you will be:

  • Support airborne platforms and ground based systems across multiple programs
  • Perform key software lifecycle development activities, including the design, development and integration testing of mission systems software
  • Work in a fast paced environment as part of a dynamic and growing software development team
  • Work with common software engineering tools and practices
  • Job Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
    • Candidate must hold a current U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain a U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance
    • Embedded systems C/C++ software development experience (3+ years)
    • TCP/IP network applications development experience (3+ years)
    • Linux or Green Hills Integrity development experience (3+ years)
    • Experience following a well-defined software development process (3+ years)
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while balancing priorities and schedules
    • Motivated self-starter with strong analytical skills
    • Configuration management tools and processes experience
    • The ability to move to Cedar Rapids, IA

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • UML experience (2+ years)
    • Python experience (2+ years)
    • Enterprise Architect experience (1+ years)
    • Experience in developing products for military applications meeting government security or safety standards
    • Bid and proposal experience
    • OOA/D architectures and design patterns experience
    • Multi-threaded real-time embedded applications experience
    • Experience using engineering lab equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and signal generators
    • Experience investigating problems to the root cause and then championing the creation and implementation of corrective actions
    • Agile development methodology experience
