Job Description

Advantage Tech is looking for a Infrastructure Engineer II in the Kansas City, MO area. The Infrastructure Engineer II would be responsible for carrying out system and network administration functions independently, with a sound understanding of the interactions between hardware, operating system software, and network operations. This individual would design, implement, and maintain enterprise class IT systems, as well as deliver quality IT solutions to meet business objectives and enhance the end user experience. This position would also provide tier one & tier two technical support, and assist internal users within the IT Department as needed.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain technology roadmaps
  • Develop and deliver all infrastructure technology solutions for the Company in conjunction with other IT personnel and vendor partners
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Install, configure, test, monitor, and maintain all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.  Drive common problem resolution to Service Desk by knowledge article creation/maintenance and Service Desk training
  • Maintain security, backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Write and maintain scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on tasks
  •

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Considered an expert in at least one technology domain.  Owns the roadmap for that domain.  Defines activities needed for evolution of the technology domain
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of company’s business applications
    • Effectively interfaces with vendor resources in the successful completion of assigned tasks and for support efforts
    • Demonstrates ability to effectively lead/apply the incident management process on severity 1 incidents, including coordinating resources, communication, and escalation as required. Proactively analyzes service data to reduce problems in the environment
    • Monitors project process, progress and results.
