Schwan Cosmetics USA, Inc. is part of Schwan STABILO Cosmetics which is a full service private label supplier with a strong heritage of developing and introducing innovative, market driven color cosmetics and counts internationally renowned cosmetics companies among its customers. We currently have a 1st Shift Decoration Production Supervisor position available.  This position is  located in our newly built facility in Murfreesboro, TN.  We are a family owned company with more than 3,000 global employees; with our corporate headquarters, Schwan Cosmetics in Heroldsberg, Germany. In addition to producing high quality cosmetics, the Schwan-STABILO group is also the leader in stationery writing instruments and special order outdoor equipment.

The 1st Shift Decoration Production Supervisor will plan, direct, and coordinate the operations and continuous improvement activities of our Decoration Department and be responsible for ensuring optimum machine performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. 

Job Requirements

1.       Coordinate, supervise, and monitor the workings of the Decoration Department in production to ensure people, resources, methods, and machine efficiency expectation are achieved.    

2.        Measure and communicate operations performance daily and work w/ other departments to improve operational efficiencies.  Implement corrective actions to ensure problems do not continue.

3.        Identify and reduce/eliminate waste in the operations areas by identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement activities.  Improve processes and policies in support of departmental goals.  Measure OEE and implement improvement activities.  

4.        Adhere to production schedule, communicate any necessary changes across all shifts, coordinate and communicate between support functions and other production departments and shifts.  Manage headcount to deliver customer demand and maintaining operational efficiency.

5.        Implement and support departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output and provide a safe environment for our associates perform safety observations and coach employees to maintain safety first culture.

6.        Ensure quality of products and manufacturing standards that are compliant with company’s quality management system.  Continually monitoring products and processes to ensure compliance.

7.       Perform other duties as required.

Education:  Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Production Management from four-year college or university. Strong skills in work planning, scheduling, and must have good judgment of color, design, and printing quality.    

Experience:  3 - 5 years or work experience supervising in manufacturing environment preferred, preferably printing, painting, or packaging.  Prefer candidates with knowledge and/or experience in continuous improvement activities and implementation of lean tools such as: SMED, Visual Factory Management, TPM, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen events, etc.  Prefer experience in a “batch processing” or “make-to-order” manufacturing environment.
