Job Description

 Company currently recruiting for an Off-Shift Supervisor

Responsibilites and duties of the Shift Supervisor will include but not be limited to:

 

¨Responsible for directing housekeeping activities.  Must ensure that Operators, Floor Support and Material Handlers, keep a neat and organized work areas including machine and floor cleanliness, to include 5S..

 

    1. ¨ Changes work orders as needed in accordance with Company guidelines 
    2. ¨ Issue warnings for attendance, disciplinary actions, and quality problems.
    3. ¨ Fill out shift report/summary before end of shift.
    4. ¨Document and initiate corrective action for tooling or equipment deficiencies to allow  corrective action to be implemented.
    5. ¨Fill in as needed to cover for other Molding Supervisors for absenteeism and vacation  coverage.
    6.  Work closely with the Lean Coordinator to implement 5-S and other lean manufacturing  concepts.
    7. ¨Update and continuously check all appropriate documentation, standard operating  procedures and logs, maintain compliance with quality standards.
    8. ¨Must understand and implement the concept of “Working myself out of a job" by  empowering team members to become self sufficient and creating “Self-Directed" work  teams.
    9. ¨ Must attend scheduled classes offered by the Company in areas of Team Building and    Leadership.
    10. ¨ Maintains a continuous focus on scrap reduction and improved product quality.  Work  with Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance as needed to  achieve desired results.
    11. ¨Ensure that press cycles are being maintained, notify Processors and document  inconsistent or over cycle processes.
    12. ¨Performs ANY and ALL duties as directed by Operations Manager to achieve   maximum plant performance. 
Job Requirements

The idea candidate will have 4-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting preferably in the plastics, automotive, or durable goods manufacturing sectors.  High School graduate required.  2-4 year degree in Industrial Management or like course work highly desired. 

 

Experience in process training and performance along with exposure to lean manufacturing, visual work place, and Six Sigma is highly desired.  ISO/TS certified plant environment will be a plus.  Excellent communication and training delivery is highly desired.
