Tronox Alkali is the world’s largest producer of natural soda ash, offering a secure, reliable and diverse range of high-quality product choices. The Alkali division mines and processes trona ore and manufactures soda ash that is used in the production of glass, detergent formulation, chemical manufacturing, pulp and paper production, and water treatment. It also produces sodium bicarbonate and other chemical compounds used in common industrial and household applications. Our main Alkali operations are in Green River, Wyoming (USA), home of the world’s largest trona ore deposit.

Job Overview and Primary Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced, results oriented Project Manager (PMI Certification is a plus) with a successful career in achieving major KPI goals. 
He/she will have strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to managing and executing processes. Our customers (internal and external) are our major focus and a high level of satisfaction is our number one goal. This position works cross-functionally with many areas so we need a relationship building and team playing guru who knows how to relate to multiple levels of authority. Key Responsibilities

  • Management, coordination of project development and execution of process
  • Determination of project development and execution strategies such as contracting plan, material management plan and integrated project schedule within determined timelines
  • Project team management and development of team members (i.e. maintenance, operations, safety)
  • Utilization of the capital deployment process for project development and execution
  • Integration of project with power steering system to manage and forecast project costs
  • Ensure projects comply with regulatory requirements, plant engineering standards and equipment standards
  • Compliance with Process safety, ergonomics, MSHA, ISO 9000, environmental agencies, applicable codes and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure projects comply with COS
  • Departmental record keeping and databases
  • Activities

  • Management and coordination of project development and execution including development of AFEs and evaluation of project’s economics
  • Management of change in coordination with the document control organization
  • Assist in performing a root cause analysis
  • Determination of project development and execution strategies such as contracting plan, material management plan and integrated project schedule
  • Utilization of the capital deployment process for project development and execution
  • Integration of project with power steering system to manage and forecast project costs
  • Participate in development and administration of capital plan
  • Project management, including cost accountability
  • Prepares design, drawings & specification documents
  • Prepares bid/request documents, addendum & change orders for procurement phase
  • Direct interface with discipline engineers, cost estimator and corporate engineering
  • Coordinate and ensure projects comply with regulatory and code requirements
  • Project closure and accounting interface
  • Ensure projects comply with Corporate Operating Standards
  • Support SAP project system for ACD
  • Support ISO 9000 efforts
  • Support Responsible Care program
  • Job Requirements

    Grade 18

    • BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited 4 year college or university
    • 4+ years engineering project management experience

    Grade 20

    • BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited 4 year college or university
    • 8 + years of engineering project experience

     PMI Certification is a plus
