McClatchy's Corporate Digital Revenue Team seeks an innovative and highly motivated manager. This successful candidate will have proven success managing, selling and executing strategic objectives to increase digital revenue from display, mobile platforms, vendor partnerships, SEM, reputation management, social and other emerging digital marketing solutions. The individual must possess strong sales, leadership and collaboration skills and be a consummate team professional.
This role work closely with McClatchy advertising teams to increase digital acumen and further the company’s strategic digital transformation. 
  • Identify and develop strategies for growing and maximizing sustainable digital revenue growth.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to key initiatives and objectives.
  • Develop and coach managers and reps to expert level within their sales competencies.
  • Understand and identify revenue trends and prospects to help markets achieve revenue goals.
  • Problem-solve, and provide solutions supporting key initiatives with a focus on Big Ask.
  • Ensure assigned markets have appropriate resources in place to achieve online sales goals.
  • Collaborate and work effectively across internal teams to assist local markets.
  • Job Requirements
    • Demonstrate leadership & challenge markets by leading with insights and bringing valuable suggestions to the table.
    • Communicate & strategize effectively along all levels of the organization.
    • Coaching across all levels.
    • Superior understanding of all solutions and building ROI driven campaigns around success metrics/KPIs.
    • Develop and assist in executing strategic revenue plans for assigned McClatchy media companies to accomplish monthly, quarterly, and annual local digital-only revenue objectives.
    • Participate in development of sales strategies. Identify, launch and support tactics for implementation of these strategies.
    • Understand and identify revenue trends, problem solving solutions and engage in collaborative planning sessions at the market and product level.
    • Provide training, sales processes and plans, sales direction and support to our media company markets.
    • Drive understanding and maintenance of online value.
    • Drive incremental revenue via hands-on sales initiatives in each market throughout the year.
    • Ensure assigned markets have appropriate resources in place to achieve online sales goals by working with local sales management, and corporate resources.
    • Leverage internal resources to accomplish objectives and to solve problems.
    • Identify resources and ensure deployment. These resources may include vendor contacts (Revenue Managers team, Product/Project team, Business Development, etc.), product or training manuals, collateral, training by McClatchy staff, “help desk", etc.
    • Provide strategic and tactical guidance to various levels of our media company sales management in order to meet and exceed digital only revenue objectives.
    • Coordinate the system and financial matters in rolling out online/media company products.
    • Provide tools and resources such as industry research and traffic data.
    • Support media company executives to train, coordinate and build digital selling opportunities in local markets in collaboration with the corporate sales training and development manager. This will include introduction of key vertical (retail or classified) based products, banner/sponsorship/display ad sales, as well as new initiatives that the media companies or what McClatchy sees as revenue opportunities.
    • Provide sales materials that support McClatchy media companies/online sales.
    • Support vendor/partner sales efforts – identify convergence points and maximize revenue opportunities.
