We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineering Drafter at our world headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for providing CAD drafting and modeling, testing, and documentation and technical support to the Aviation Mechanical Engineering department. Other essential functions include:
Provide drafting support for Mechanical Engineering, including detailed models and drawings in Solidworks, AutoCAD, and various other Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
Perform Bill of Material (BOM) maintenance, Engineering Change Order (ECO) drafting, and other documentation support for the aviation Mechanical Engineers
Conduct environmental and performance tests such as temperature, vibration, shock, and other environments
Write test reports to document results of environmental and other tests
Build prototypes and test fixtures for mechanical assemblies
Troubleshoot mechanical systems
Qualified candidates possess an Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Drafting & Design, Electronics, or a related field or equivalent working experience. Other requirements include:
Drafting experience and knowledge of best drafting practices
Mechanical assembly, maintenance, or repair experience
Proficiency working with CAD tools such as SolidWorks
Proficiency working with MS Office Suite, specifically Word & Excel
Previous experience in SolidWoorks, Corel Draw, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, and Excel is highly preferred!
