Manufacturing Engineer needed for an immediate full time opportunity with our client in Southern New Hampshire. Candidates interested should have a specific knowledge in the Polymer Science field and strong medical tubing and/or blow molding experience. A minimum of 10 years relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Polymer Science, or related engineering discipline. Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing experience are also required to meet the demands of this position. Overview



Polymer Science based technical leader focused on assessing and elevating full stream manufacturing to best in class status: streamlining processes; planning and implementing capital and waste reduction improvements using a project management approach in a polymer products manufacturing environment. Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Supports and coaches manufacturing engineering team members and functional leaders using QMS-compliant technical, statistical and project management expertise. Provides appropriate influence to ensure that projects are implemented to meet the Company's quality, cost and service objectives. Subject matter expertise positions the candidate to represent company to customers and suppliers, ensure alignment and coordinate activities to meet requirements. May be called upon infrequently to support another domestic manufacturing location.



Main Job Duties/Responsibilities


  • Processing expert in high mix, low volume medical grade extrusion and/or blow molding

  • Utilizes six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques to drive waste reduction, uptime, improve product flow

  • Accountable for project schedule, on-time & on-budget completion, problem resolution via project management techniques.

  • Meets/exceeds organizational objectives by leading and/or contributing to projects to achieve positive results

  • As a subject matter expert / technical leader, interacts with customers on problem resolution

  • Defines manufacturing strategy, process development, evaluation builds, process qualifications, process scale-up, process technology transfer (if applicable), DFX efforts

  • Prepares and maintains project status reports and actions plans by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; Reports progress to senior management

  • Creates /reviews Engineering Change Request (ECRs) and drives problem resolution related to Non-Conformances (Company), Customer Complaints and Corrective Action/Preventive Action plans

  • Determines project specifications or capability by studying product design, customer requirements, performance standards and completing technical studies

  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting or overseeing tests (Validations, DOE)


  • DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:


  • Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science; Master Degree preferred

  • Ten + years of demonstrated technical expertise, statistical analysis, project management, lean implementation, and business results

  • Medical device manufacturing experience: FDA QSR and ISO 13485

  • Expertise with Engineering Documentation Control Systems

  • Expertise performing DOEs, GRR, IQ/OQ/PQ, VSM, and Kaizen events
